We are extremely excited to be able to award our fourth annual Oren’s Auto Body scholarship to Travis Aderhold. Travis will be graduating from Edgerton High School on Sunday, June 4. He is the son of Rob & Carrie Aderhold and has one younger brother, Brandon. Travis has shadowed his Dad work on vehicles all of his life and always is asking questions on how to fix something. He said, “I am intrigued by the mechanical aspects.” Travis’ father drives a fuel truck for a living and notices that when something breaks down there is a shortage of technicians available to get it fixed. Travis hopes to help assist with the demand and fulfill his desire to work on the mechanics of vehicles. During his time at Edgerton High School, Travis has taken many, many shop classes and was a member of the boys golf team for four years. We were very impressed to learn that Travis has already learned to “give back” to his community by volunteering with the
Edgerton Lions Club and Boy Scouts of America. Way to go, Travis!
Travis is enrolled to start the Diesel & Heavy Equipment Technician program at Blackhawk Technical College. This program prepares students to service and repair diesel trucks and diesel-powered agricultural and industrial equipment. Travis will improve on skills needed to interpret technical manuals and develop a broad base of skills to build on to enter into the large and expanding field of diesel and heavy equipment service and repair. Sounds like this program is exactly what Travis is looking for. Good luck.
